Google: Time to Kill Free Speech

According to an 85-page internal company briefing fittingly titled “The Good Censor,” the American tradition of free speech is not an option. In the briefing, Google acknowledges that it and other Silicon Valley platforms “control the majority of online conversations” and have actively taken a “shift towards censorship” in the wake of the 2016 presidential election and the rise of the political right in Europe. Google has since tried to play it off as internal research and not an official company position…you know, like it’s official company policy to not censor conservatives. We’ll take this an admission of guilt.

An internal company briefing produced by Google and leaked exclusively to Breitbart News argues that due to a variety of factors, including the election of President Trump, the “American tradition” of free speech on the internet is no longer viable.

Despite leaked video footage showing top executives declaring their intention to ensure that the rise of Trump and the populist movement is just a “blip” in history, Google has repeatedly denied that the political bias of its employees filter into its products.

But the 85-page briefing, titled “The Good Censor,” admits that Google and other tech platforms now “control the majority of online conversations” and have undertaken a “shift towards censorship” in response to unwelcome political events around the world.

Examples cited in the document include the 2016 election and the rise of Alternative for Deutschland (AfD) in Germany.

Responding to the leak, an official Google source said the document should be considered internal research, and not an official company position.

Leak: Google Advocates Censoring “Terrorist Thug” Marsha Blackburn

Leaked emails reveal senior Google search engineer Blake Lemoine calling U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) a “violent thug” and a “terrorist” and supporting censorship of her over her political stances. The emails took place in the wake of a June 2018 op-ed for Fox News in which Rep. Blackburn called out Silicon Valley for bias against conservatives. “We certainly shouldn’t acquiesce to the theatrical demands of a legislator who makes political hay by intentionally reducing the safety of the people who she claims to protect,” said Lemoine. “I’m not big on negotiation with terrorists.” It ought to be clear by now that Southern California’s silicon tower intellectuals simply cannot help themselves from using the Internet as a bludgeon against conservatives and free speech.

A senior software engineer at Google with responsibility for a key feature of Google’s search engine labeled Tennessee Senate candidate Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) a “violent thug” and a “terrorist,” who Google shouldn’t “negotiate” with, according to internal emails obtained by Breitbart News. The employee also defended the censorship of her campaign ads on social media.

The comments took place in an internal email discussion that began on June 19 this year. The topic of discussion was Rep. Blackburn’s Fox News op-ed of the same month, which urged Silicon Valley companies to address bias against conservatives on their platforms. Blackburn, who has herself been the target of social media censorship, has been a vocal critic of tech giants like Google, Facebook, and Twitter during her time in Congress.

The op-ed was not well received within the corridors of Silicon Valley power. One Google employee, a site reliability engineer, called Blackburn’s piece “hilarious” and said Republicans are becoming “tribalists focused on stirring up outrage to maintain power.”

NPR Railroads Movie About Abortionist Kermit Gosnell

National Public Radio has rejected six figures’ worth of advertising revenue from John Sullivan, executive producer of the new film Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer (in theaters Oct. 12). Sullivan was trying to purchase a sponsorship for the Peabody Award-winning interview show Fresh Air for the following ad:
“Support for this NPR program comes from the film Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer. The film is the true story of abortionist Kermit Gosnell, a story the mainstream media tried to cover up because it reveals the truth about abortion.” NPR took issue with the term “abortionist” as well as “abortion doctor,” which were deemed not neutral enough for its sponsorship requirements. The problem is that NPR itself has used these terms numerous times in stories about Gosnell and other abortionists. The bottom line is that NPR doesn’t want to offend its overwhelming liberal audience by supporting an obvious conservative film.

According to e-mails provided to The Daily Beast, NPR’s representative ran it up the legal flagpole and came back with a disappointing answer.In addition to other minor tweaks to the wording, their response stated, “The word ‘abortionist’ will also need to be changed to the neutral word ‘doctor.’”

Woodward Threatens to Release Tapes

In what may well be a bluff, Bob Woodward, author of the controversial and largely fictional “Fear: Trump in the White House,” is now threatening to release the tapes of his interviews “if somebody really wants to challenge me.” Then, in the same breath, he notes, “But I, again, I’ve made agreements with people that these sources are going to remain confidential.” He may have just asked for someone to throw down the legal gauntlet to force him to show his hand and finally put his claims of a “nervous breakdown” in the Trump administration to rest. We expect nothing will materialize but smoke and mirrors.

Talk of Bob Woodward’s new tome, just like all the recently released political books, came and went quickly.

President Trump has deemed “Fear: Trump in the White House” “a total fraud,” a “work of fiction,” and “totally discredited.” Some of the book’s most salacious quotes have been roundly denied by the people who supposedly said them. And conservative websites, including The Daily Wire, have cast some doubts on Woodward’s methodology.

So with the waning publicity for the book, Woodward took to the airwaves to re-hype it. Appearing on CBS (his book was published by Simon & Schuster, a division of CBS) on Thursday, Woodward tried his best to hawk his book.

The Washington Post writer made famous during the Watergate scandal was asked if he would release the interview tapes he claims to have. “Well, if somebody really wants to challenge me, of course. Of course. But I — again, I’ve made agreements with people that these sources are going to remain confidential.”

Leaked Google Email Reveals Effort to Boost Latino Vote

A leaked email written by Google’s former head of multicultural marketing details a range of the company’s efforts to increase Latino turnout, including the support of a partner organization that helped drive voters to the polls in the run-up to the 2016 U.S. presidential election. “We worked very hard. Many people did. We pushed to get out the Latino vote with our features, our partners, and our voices. We kept our Google efforts non-partisan and followed our company’s protocols for the elections strategy” the email begins. “We emphasized our mission to give Latinos access to information so they can make an informed decision at the polls, and we feel very grateful for all the support to do this important work.” The short version of this story is that Google acted as an official Get Out The Vote (GOTV) arm of the DNC on behalf of Hillary’s campaign. But, is anyone surprised?

The 675-word email, first obtained exclusively by Fox News Channel’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” was written by the tech giant’s former head of multicultural marketing and details a range of efforts to increase Latino turnout, including the support of a partner organization that helped to drive voters to the polls.

Louisiana Mayor Axes Nike

In Kenner, Louisiana, there will be no more purchases of any Nike products for its recreational facilities in the wake of anthem-kneeling Colin Kaepernick becoming the face of the brand in its latest ad. “Effective immediately all purchases made by any booster club operating at any Kenner Recreation Facility for wearing apparel, shoes, athletic equipment and/or any athletic product must be approved by the Director of Parks and Recreation, or his designee,” Mayor Ben Zahn wrote in an official memo. Former interim DNC chair and CNN analyst/leaker Donna Brazile says she is disappointed in her hometown. Which is further confirmation that it’s the right decision. The fallout continues, and Nike may likely cede its dominion in the sports apparel world to a rival outfit. Good riddance.

Nike knew it was courting controversy by making the polarizing, anthem-protesting Colin Kaepernick the face of its 30th anniversary “Just Do It” campaign, and indeed the pushback has been fast and furious: People have burned their Nike shoes, one college has trashed any gear with the Nike logo, and now one town in Louisiana has banned the purchase of any Nike products for its recreational facilities.

In response to Nike endorsing the man who triggered the anthem protest by declaring in 2016 that he was “not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Republican Mayor Ben Zahn of Kenner, Louisiana issued a new rule for the city’s recreational facilities: No more Nike.

“Effective immediately all purchases made by any booster club operating at any Kenner Recreation Facility for wearing apparel, shoes, athletic equipment and/or any athletic product must be approved by the Director of Parks and Recreation, or his designee,” Kenner wrote in an official memo, the Times-Picayune reported Sunday.

College Chooses Country Over Colin Kaepernick

The College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri, is cutting Nike (and Colin Kaepernick) out of its athletic uniform branding. “In their new ad campaign, we believe Nike executives are promoting an attitude of division and disrespect toward America,” College of the Ozarks President Jerry C. Davis announced. “If Nike is ashamed of America, we are ashamed of them. We also believe that those who know what sacrifice is all about are more likely to be wearing a military uniform than an athletic uniform.” Three cheers for Davis and the Ozarks where red-blooded Americans still live.

A college in Missouri has decided to “choose its country over company,” and do away with all athletic uniforms which display the Nike logo.
The College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri, has chosen to part ways with Nike over the company’s decision to make anthem protester Colin Kaepernick, the face of their new ad campaign.

“In their new ad campaign, we believe Nike executives are promoting an attitude of division and disrespect toward America,” College of the Ozarks President Jerry C. Davis explained.

“If Nike is ashamed of America, we are ashamed of them. We also believe that those who know what sacrifice is all about are more likely to be wearing a military uniform than an athletic uniform.”

This is not the first time the small private Christian college has taken a stand on the anthem issue. In October of 2017, the school made it a policy that all coaches and players had to show respect for the anthem.

Nike Dives Over Kaepernick’s ‘Just Do It’

The smell of burning rubber is hanging over whomever at Nike thought it a sound PR decision to put Colin “Take a Knee” Kaepernick — one of the most controversial NFL political pontificators — on the face of a nationwide marketing campaign. Nike’s obtuse, careless, and clearly agenda-driven marriage with National Anthem protestor Kaepernick is infuriating Americans across the country, many of whom are rejecting Kaepernick’s “Just Do It” advice to “Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything.” Then again, maybe it’s a type of self-immolation in tune with Nike’s ideological beliefs. As a result, Nike stock is taking a massive hit on Wall Street.

Algorithm Defaults to Liberal Results When It Comes to “Googling” Trump

Gone are the days of the free and fair Internet. Even apolitical algorithms are a thing of the past. According to a new report, nearly 100% of Google search results for news related to President Donald Trump are from liberal media outlets, save for Fox News. Any other conservative sites are relegated to the second page, while CNN receives the most love, followed by The Washington Post, NBC, and CNBC. And it’s not simply because the left media have spilled more ink in slanted stories on the president; conservative sources have spent as much energy refuting them. In case there’s any question, the fifth estate now includes the web.

Every conservative who’s ever searched a politically-charged topic on Google has inevitably noticed that left-wing outlets seem to dominate the results. Other than Fox News, not many right-leaning news sites seem to make the cut, especially not on the first page of results. But is that a function of the popularity of left-leaning media outlets over their right-leaning counterparts, or is it political bias built into Google’s algorithm?

PJ Media’s Paula Bolyard’s recent study on the issue of Google bias suggests it’s the latter. Bolyard found that of the first 100 results provided by Google for “Trump news,” nearly all were from left-leaning outlets.

Bolyard notes that “Google has maintained that all outlets are treated fairly, but nevertheless, conservative sites have reported reduced search traffic and, in the case of Google-owned YouTube, content creators have been banned and demonetized.” The suspicion that left-wing bias pervades the company was only heightened by the famous firing of conservative James Damore.

Media Throwing in the Towel on Kavanaugh Resistance

Although confirmation hearings for SCOTUS nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh won’t start until September 4, major MSM entities, such as the New York Times and The Washington Post, are reporting that it’s a lost cause for the left. According to the left media, shortcomings in resisting Trump’s nominee include a lack of grassroots coordination, lack of a clear target, and any blemish on Kavanaugh’s record to try and sink an increasingly likely successful confirmation. The “resist” efforts also appear foiled by the possibility of opposition from moderate GOP Sens. Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska. In short, Justice Kavanaugh was a done deal even before his nomination was announced.
