Faux-Moderate Sen. Claire McCaskill Sponsored Bill to End Immigration Enforcement

In an effort to drum up support among Independent voters, Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) went on Fox News declaring she supports President Trump’s proactive measures to secure the border in advance of the arrival of the thousands-strong Central American caravan of migrants. “I think the president has to use every tool he has at his disposal, and I 100 percent back him up on that, whether it is turning them back because we are not equipped to handle that many asylum claims into our system,” McCaskill said. “I do not want our borders overrun, and I support the president’s efforts to make sure they’re not.” There’s just one problem: Numbers USA gives McCaskill an “F” rating for her support of amnesty and open borders. Worse still, she cosponsored legislation earlier this year to end ALL immigration law enforcement.

Here’s more from Breitbart…

Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) has most recently shifted gears on immigration, talking tough on border issues, although months ago the lawmaker co-sponsored legislation to end all immigration enforcement.
During an interview with Fox News this week, McCaskill said she supports President Trump’s efforts to stop a migrant caravan of at least 7,000 to 10,000 Central Americans.

“I think the president has to use every tool he has at his disposal, and I 100 percent back him up on that, whether it is turning them back because we are not equipped to handle that many asylum claims into our system,” McCaskill said. “I do not want our borders overrun and I support the president’s efforts to make sure they’re not.”

McCaskill’s tough rhetoric on the border comes at the same time of her re-election bid, where she faces a tough challenge from Republican candidate Josh Hawley.

NORTHCOM General: “This Caravan is Different”

NORTHCOM and North American Aerospace Defense Commander General Terrence O’Shaughnessy is warning that the mass of humanity en route to the U.S.-Mexico border from Central America is unprecedented. “This caravan is different from what we’ve seen in the past,” said O’Shaughnessy. “What we have seen, is . . . violence coming out of the caravan, and we’ve seen as they’ve passed other international borders.” Their level of violence – and entitlement – is unprecedented, and their storming of Mexico’s border with Guatemala, violence against law enforcement, and rejection of an offer of asylum in Mexico are just the beginning of the fight. This is the justification for Iraq-level reinforcements at our border with Mexico.

Here’s more from Breitbart…

The U.S. commander overseeing the military’s response to the migrant caravan headed from Central America to the U.S. southern border said Tuesday that the caravan was unlike anything officials have seen before.
“This caravan is different from what we’ve seen in the past,” Air Force Gen. Terrence O’Shaughnessy, commander of U.S. Northern Command and North American Aerospace Defense Command, told reporters at the Pentagon. “What we have seen, is we’ve seen clearly an organization at a higher level than we’ve seen before.”

“We’ve seen violence coming out of the caravan, and we’ve seen as they’ve passed other international borders, we’ve seen them behave in a nature that is not what we’ve seen in the past,” he added.

There were reports of violence from the caravan earlier in the day. Mexican authorities arrested two Hondurans who allegedly shot at federal police officers escorting the caravan across the southern Mexican state of Chiapas.

Migrant Caravan Rejects Job Offers for Asylum

In a telling report by the Arizona Central, members of the now 7,000-migrant caravan have rejected opportunities to stay and work in Mexico. TIME magazine published details that Mexican officials reportedly attempted to appease the mass of humanity by offering “shelter, medical attention, schooling and jobs” if the migrants agreed to remain “in the southern Mexico states of Chiapas or Oaxaca.” Unfortunately, the caravan has stalled about 190 miles into Mexico amid claims of a child abduction with Mexican police forming a human blockade on a bridge to prevent their northward travel. The “leaders” of the caravan say they will “rest” for a day, presumably for the negative headline to fade. But this begs we wonder aloud what the endgame is if not for a free ticket to the U.S.

Here’s more from The Daily Wire…

A migrant caravan currently snaking its way from Honduras to the United States’s southern border was intercepted by Mexican government officials on Saturday, who offered the migrants the opportunity to stay in Mexico on work permits — an offer the migrant caravan has reportedly declined.

The Arizona Central reports that the caravan, which now numbers between five and seven thousand people, ran into a Mexican police blockade Saturday, temporarily halting progress on a bridge just outside the Mexican state of Oaxaca.

“Rows of police impeded the migrants’ path, prompting several hours of negotiations between police commanders, immigration officials and caravan representatives,” the AZ Central said. Mexican officials reportedly offered the migrants “shelter, medical attention, schooling and jobs” if the migrants agreed to remain “in the southern Mexico states of Chiapas or Oaxaca,” according to TIME Magazine.

Report: Millions in Food Stamps Bankrolling Terrorism

According to a new report from the Government Accountability Institute (GAI), millions of taxpayer dollars are being trafficked to third-world terrorists through food stamp fraud, and some of it is paying for terrorism right here, including the 1993 World Trade Center bombings. New York City detectives in the 1980s told a Senate subcommittee that the money was being “unwittingly” funneled to terrorists as folks simply tried to send money back home to relatives overseas through “hawalas,” a sort of trust transferring money through informal agents. Today, Pakistan alone receives more than $7 billion from the U.S. through hawala networks.

Millions of taxpayers dollars trafficked through food stamp fraud went to terrorists who funded their activities at home and abroad, according to an explosive report from the Government Accountability Institute (GAI).
The report from GAI, where Breitbart News Senior-Editor-at-Large Peter Schweizer serves as president, highlighted several instances where money obtained through Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits fraud went to fund acts of terrorism, including the 1993 World Trade Center bombings and the 2013 Boston Marathon Bombing.

Although this method of using food stamp fraud money for terrorism has been around since the 1980s, it gained notoriety when New York City detectives testified before a Senate subcommittee about the 1993 World Trade Center bombings.

U.S.-Mexico Reach Deal to Stop Honduran Caravan

So far Mexico is stepping up to do its job to stop the 4,000-strong wave of migrants amassing at its southern border en route to the United States. Mexico, a “pass through” nation to our detriment, has been prompted by the Trump administration to request that the United Nations step up with shelters along its border with Central America to provide humanitarian aid and to keep them from entering Mexico until they are lawfully processed as refugees or legal entrants. According to the Washington Examiner, Mexico has also agreed to immediately take back any migrant who evades this process and reaches the United States. In other words, Trump is speaking loudly and carrying a very big stick.

Here’s more from Washington Examiner…

The U.S. and Mexico have reached an agreement aimed at keeping the 4,000-person migrant caravan from reaching America.

The plan was developed over many months and included a request from Mexico that the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees establish shelters along its border with Central American, a senior administration official told Fox News. The goal is to provide humanitarian aid to members of the caravan, and either prevent them from entering Mexico, or process them individually as refugees or as legal entrants.

Mexico has also agreed to take back any migrant who evades their processing system and makes it to the United States. In the past, the U.S. has been required to house those who crossed the border illegally until their cases could be heard, and only after could they return them to their country.

Senate Judiciary Committee Bans Foreigners

On Thursday, the Senate Judiciary Committee passed the Defending Elections against Trolls from Enemy Regimes, or the DETER Act, to ban foreign nationals attempting to interfere with America’s elections. The bill, which passed unanimously in this polarized political age, targets individuals outside the U.S. who try to influence elections and blocks them from receiving a U.S. entry visa. “Improper interference” includes conduct that violates federal criminal, voting rights, or campaign finance law, or is under the direction of a foreign government. Russia was cited as the case in point for needing such legislation. One wonders why, however, such a law was not already in place before 2016.

Here’s more from Washington Examiner…

The Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday passed legislation that would ban foreign nationals who try to interfere with U.S. elections.

The Defending Elections against Trolls from Enemy Regimes, or the DETER Act, is aimed at cracking down on people outside the U.S. who try to change the outcome of elections, an issue members of both parties have raised as a priority this year. Under the bill, which passed in a unanimous voice vote, foreigners who are deemed to have meddled in a U.S. election couldn’t get a U.S. entry visa.

The bill targets “improper interference,” which is defined as conduct that violates federal criminal, voting rights, or campaign finance law, or is under the direction of a foreign government. Sens. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., and Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., sponsored the DETER Act.

“In 2016, Russia committed an act of cyberwar against our country, and Congress has a responsibility to take immediate action to prevent Russia’s efforts to influence and disrupt the 2018 elections.

Pence to Central Americans: ‘If You Can’t Come Legally, Don’t Come’

During a visit to Brazil for a meeting with President Michel Temer, Vice President Mike Pence took the opportunity to deliver a pointed message to Central Americans who may be thinking about illegally immigrating to the U.S. (or counting on smugglers to traffick their children).

Pence demanded: “If you can’t come legally, don’t come at all.”

He went on to urge Central Americans to “hold on to your children” and to “build your lives in your homeland” and called for respecting American sovereignty.

It’s a bold message but one that needs to be delivered.

Democracy is the preferred system for a reason: use it or lose it.

Here’s more from Breitbart…

Vice President Mike Pence traveled to Brazil on Tuesday with a warning message for Central Americans thinking of coming to the United States or sending their children with smugglers: “If you can’t come legally, don’t come at all.”

Pence was in Brazil meeting with President Michel Temer when he made remarks specifically addressed to Central Americans.

“To the people of Central America, I have a message for you, straight from my heart and straight from the heart of the American people,” Pence began, calling them neighbors with hopes that they will “prosper and thrive.”

NoKo Stuck with Sanctions During Denuclearization

President Donald Trump made clear in a video message Saturday that sanctions on the hermit kingdom of North Korea will remain in effect until the necessary denuclearization milestones are reached.

From the transcript:

The people of America, the people of Korea, the people of the world deserve a future of security and of peace. And that is why we signed this joint statement.
In the coming days and weeks and months, Secretary Pompeo will be working directly with North Korea to implement the denuclearization deal. In the meantime, sanctions will remain in place.

It’s a far cry from the days of sending untraceable pallets of cash and billions in sanctions relief on the heels of pomp and ceremony and little substantive national security accomplishments.

Here’s more from Breitbart…

Transcript (via FedNews) as Follows:

“Earlier this week I returned from a historic summit in Singapore, where I met with Chairman Kim Jong-un of North Korea. This summit marked a new beginning for relations between the United States and North Korea. And it opened the path for a future for all Koreans, North and South.

The Summit also made a clean break from the failed approaches of past administrations, and failed they were.

Our meeting was the first time a sitting American President has ever met with a leader of North Korea. Our conversation was open, honest, direct and very, very productive. We produced something that is beautiful.

At the conclusion of the Summit we signed a joint statement, in which Chairman Kim, quote, ‘Reaffirms his firm and unwavering commitment to complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.’

This is the beginning of the process toward the denuclearization of North Korea. I sometimes say the ‘denuking’ of North Korea, and those are beautiful words.

During our conversation I emphasized the tremendous new prosperity, security and opportunity that awaits North Korea when they denuclearize.

As I said in Singapore, Chairman Kim has the chance to seize an incredible future for his people. Anyone can make war, but only the most courageous can make peace.

Our world has seen more than enough conflict. If there’s a chance at peace, if there’s a chance to end the horrible threat of nuclear conflict, than we must pursue it at all costs.

We know that there’s a great deal of work ahead but peace is always worth that effort. We have been working very hard. I made the trip, it was worth every second. It was an incredible event. The people of Asia feel safe.

And, right now, the people, from all over the world, feel much safer than the days before I was president. We’re doing a good job. We’re working very hard. And we’re going to produce — it’s all going to happen.

Thank you. God bless you. And God bless America.”

Firm: US Opens Embassy in Jerusalem Under Fire

The Trump administration made good today on its promise to move the US embassy in Israel to its rightful place in Jerusalem.

Prime Minister ‘Bibi’ Netanyahu beamed, “What a glorious day!”

What most don’t know is that Congress made this decision nearly a quarter-century ago.

But unrest in the Middle East replete with threats from the PLO and other fellow terrorist travelers put a damper on that move.

The official opening came under fire, as we might have expected.

Palestinian insurgents continued their attempted breach of the border along the Gaza Strip which resulted in dozens of casualties.

It’s just another reminder that radical Islam is a religion of peace just as long as full submission and compliance are the terms of agreement.

The US must continue its resolve, regardless of the terms of engagement.

Here’s more from JPost…

Sixty-nine years after Israel declared Jerusalem as its capital, and 23 years after the US Congress passed a law mandating that Washington move its embassy there, the US formally opened its embassy in the city on Monday afternoon, in a move Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called “courageous” and “momentous.”

“What a glorious day. Remember this moment!” Netanyahu entreated the applauding crowd. “President Trump, by recognizing history, you have made history. All of us are deeply moved. All of us are deeply grateful.”

“Last December, President Trump became the first world leader to recognize Jerusalem as our capital, and today, the United States of America is opening its embassy right here in Jerusalem,” Netanyahu said. “Thank you President Trump, for having the courage to keep your promises!”

Caravan Arrives: Migrants Caught Scaling the Border Fence

Remember the caravan of migrants from Honduras making its way from Central America through Mexico?

Well, they’re here.

And reports are that at least a dozen of them successfully scaled the fence near the border gate between Tijuana and San Diego as supporters on the US side cheered them on.

Mexico refused to stop the horde of 1,500 migrants, but President Trump has already ordered National Guard to the border.

Which is probably why the entire caravan hasn’t already waltzed across. As we reported previously, this could be a blessing in disguise.

There’s little better than wall-to-wall coverage of massive illegal immigration to kick up the ire of American voters in favor of a wall.

Here’s more from Daily Caller…

The caravan of migrants from Central America seeking asylum in the U.S. has arrived at the border, and some people associated with the group have already been caught scaling the border fences.

“Several groups of people associated with the Central American caravan” illegally entered the U.S. “by climbing over the dilapidated scrap metal border fence on either side of the San Ysidro Port of Entry,” Rodney S. Scott, chief of the Border Patrol in the San Diego sector, which sits just north of Tijuana, told reporters Saturday.

He said the migrants included “children as young as 4 years old and in one case a pregnant female.” He called it “unconscionable that anyone would expose a child to these dangerous conditions.”

Five busloads of migrants were escorted Sunday through Tijuana to a cross-border rally near San Diego, where supporters gathered on both sides of the fence, The Associated Press reports. Images from the rally show apparent migrants from the Mexican side sitting atop the border wall proudly waving what appears to be the Honduran flag, the banner of the country from which many of the migrants are trying to flee.
