Stephen Miller Crushes CBS over Death of Migrant Girl

Senior White House adviser Stephen Miller took on CBS’s “Face the Nation” and leftists across the nation in their attempt to pin the death of a 7-year-old migrant on Customs and Border Patrol. When asked who was to blame, Miller emphasized the role of open borders judges in entrenching a system that led to such a humanitarian crisis. He made clear the issue in the shutdown fight over the border wall: “At stake is the question of whether or not the United States remains a sovereign country. Whether or not we can establish and enforce rules for entrance into our country. The Democrat Party has a simple choice. They can either choose to fight for America’s working class or to promote illegal immigration.” Spot-on. When the media’s fear-mongering settles down, this is the fundamental, unavoidable question, and Democrats STILL do not have a palatable answer for the electorate. That’s a chicken looking for a roost in November 2020.

Here’s more from The Daily Wire…

Senior White House adviser Stephen Miller appeared on CBS’s “Face the Nation” on Sunday where he blasted “left wing, activist” judges for rulings that have put lives of Americans and migrants at risk by incentivizing the “most vulnerable populations” to come to the United States.

Miller made the remarks in response to a question from CBS’s Margaret Brennan, who asked who was to blame for the death of a 7-year-old migrant girl who died while she was under the protection of Customs and Border Patrol.

“Our hearts break for the tragic death of the 7-year-old girl,” Miller began. “The loss of that precious life is. Horrifying. It is a painful reminder of the ongoing humanitarian tragedy that is illegal immigration and the misery that it spreads.”

CNN Analyst on 2020: “I Am Not Sure it’s the Time to Nominate a White Man”

And he’s likely right. Harry Enten, well known as an election prognosticator, made clear the precarious optics for the left in picking a candidate for the 2020 presidential election. HotAir.com pointed out rightly, “The last white male Democrat to win a majority of the popular vote was, er, Jimmy Carter, who got 50.1 percent.” The last landslide? LBJ in 1964. The Democrats may be forced to nominate a woman, but the downside is that she will almost certainly be a hard leftist.

Here’s more from Hot Air…

It’s Harry Enten, a smart guy whose statistical pieces on elections for FiveThirtyEight and CNN I’ve linked many times. This segment has caught the attention of, among others, Newsweek, Breitbart, and Mediaite, where Colby Hall writes of Enten, “he likely is about to get some unwanted attention from conservatives and Men’s Rights activists who will take issue with his assessment of who will be the most electable Democratic candidates in the 2020 race for the White House.”

Here’s Newsweek’s transcript of what Enten had to say in his “power rankings” segment for CNN today. Show of hands — and hold them high, because I want to know where the idiots are: Who doesn’t think this is an accurate assessment of the racial dynamics in the coming Democratic primary?

“If you want to win in the Midwest, there may not be a better man than this guy,” Enten said while talking about Senator Sherrod Brown, noting the Ohio legislator’s success as Republicans dominated in the state’s other races.

Parkland Deputy’s Attorney Declares “No Legal Duty” to Protect Students

The lawyer for former Deputy Scot Peterson, who cowered during the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in February 2018, is arguing that his client had “no legal duty” to protect the students. The lawyer for Andrew Pollack, whose daughter was killed during the shooting, countered saying, “It is inconceivable that anyone could advance the proposition that Scot Peterson had no duty to these people. That is an absurd proposition. … This was an abdication of responsibility when this [shooting] happened, and it is an abdication of responsibility now in this courtroom.” Peterson memorably arrived on the scene, radioed for help, and then stood outside the building for another five minutes as the shooter killed more students. This is abject cowardice, and Peterson should serve jail time.

Here’s more from Breitbart…

The deputy who stood by while the February 14, 2018, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting was taking place asked a judge to rule that he had “no legal duty” to protect the students.

The Sun-Sentinel reports that Scot Peterson’s attorney, Michael Piper, told Judge Englander Henning, “We want to say he had an obligation, but the law isn’t that. From a legal standpoint, there was no duty.”

Henning rejected Piper’s argument, opining that Peterson had an “obligation to act reasonably” in response to the shooting.

The suit against Peterson is a wrongful death suit brought by Andrew Pollack, father of Parkland shooting victim Meadow Pollack.

Joel Perwin, Pollack’s attorney, expressed astonishment that Peterson is trying to get the suit dismissed. Perwin said, “It is inconceivable that anyone could advance the proposition that Scot Peterson had no duty to these people.

McCarthy Calls Schumer-Pelosi Border Wall Bluff

During a Tuesday appearance on Fox News’ “The Story,” House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) told host Martha MacCallum that he has 100% confidence that the $5 billion in border wall funding can pass the still GOP-controlled House of Representatives. MacCallum asked, “So, you do have 218 votes in the House to pass $5 billion for wall funding. You’re 100% confident on that? ” McCarthy: “Yes I am.” His remarks come after Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) had a 15-minute televised spat with President Donald Trump at the White House, with both sides threatening a shutdown of the federal government.

Here’s more from Breitbart…

On Tuesday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “The Story,” House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) expressed 100% confidence that he has the votes to pass a bill that has $5 billion in border wall funding.

Host Martha MacCallum asked, “[A]re you guys going to be able to pass a bill that has $5 billion in wall funding before you leave for the holidays, or are you going to be here throughout Christmas, and perhaps throughout New Year’s?”

McCarthy answered, “Well, the answer here is yes in the House. The question is, it takes 60 votes in the Senate, would Senator Schumer (D-NY) want to have another shutdown like he had before?”

Hillary Whistleblower Raided by FBI Claims “Secret Police State”

Dennis Nathan Cain, a former FBI contractor turned Clinton-Uranium One court-recognized whistleblower, says the FBI raid on his home despite this status reveals that the “deep state” is real. “So I blow the whistle on the FBI, get raided by the same FBI, and now they want to keep the FBI’s reasons secret? Do we now live in a secret police state? Feels a little like 1984,” Cain tweeted. Suspiciously, the raid happened just before former FBI Director James Comey, who oversaw this investigation, was slated to appear before closed-door meetings with Congress on this very topic. There’s still much more than meets the eye here, but we should assume precisely zero will be done about it in the new House of Representatives, which will be controlled by the Democrats.

Here’s more from Fox News…

A former FBI contractor-turned-whistleblower who supplied documents related to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the Uranium One controversy is blasting the FBI over a mysterious raid on his home last month.

Questioning whether “we now live in a secret police state,” Dennis Nathan Cain took his frustration to Twitter on the heels of a report that the Justice Department is trying to keep the justification for the raid secret.

“So I blow the whistle on the FBI, get raided by the same FBI, and now they want to keep the FBI’s reasons secret? Do we now live in a secret police state? Feels a little like 1984,” Cain tweeted late Monday, citing The Daily Caller report.

Dem Wants Cops to Fish Through Gun Buyers’ Social Media

New York lawmakers are targeting the Second Amendment with four new alarming proposals to restrict gun rights. These bills include 1) so-called “Red Flag” laws allowing authorities to seize firearms just because someone was reported to be a threat, 2) a ban on bump stocks, 3) a second background check to be conducted after a 10-day delay of a firearms purchase, and 4) scouring years’ worth of a would-be gun buyer’s social media accounts by law enforcement. “The First Amendment, the Fourth Amendment. You’re asking someone to have to provide their password, which is a very sensitive and rightfully so aspect for most people,” New York state senator Rob Ortt (R) said in an interview. “We’re getting into subjectivity. What would constitute a reason to deny someone their pistol permit?” Great questions. More importantly, how would any of these new regulations differ substantially from what the British had imposed on the colonies in the lead-up to the American Revolution?

Here’s more from PJ Media…

Outnumbered he may be, but New York state Sen. Rob Ortt (R) promises to fight four gun proposals Democrats are backing next year. Since they control Albany following the midterms, Ortt realizes any debate could only be the precursor to a sweeping legislative victory for gun-control advocates. But he’s not about to concede defeat.

New York Democrats want “Red Flag” legislation passed, which would let police officers, family members, or even school officials tell a judge why a person poses such a danger that their weapons should be confiscated.

Another proposal would make gun buyers wait up to 10 days for a delayed background check, and yet another bill would ban bump stocks.

Dems 2020 Field: “Old vs. Young”

With the unofficial start of the 2020 race for the White House well under way, Democrats still look to be fielding at least two dozen potential candidates, and a quick analysis shows the fight could shape up to be two camps warring again each other: the old and the young. On the young end of the spectrum, we’ll likely see Senators Kamala Harris and Cory Booker as well as Beto O’Rourke, and on the older end, we may see Senators Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders along with Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, Eric Holder, and Michael Bloomberg. Regardless of how it ends up, it’s going to be quite a show.

Here’s more from PJ Media…

About the only consensus to emerge from 2016 was that it was an extraordinarily unusual election cycle, from beginning to end.

One aspect that differentiated the cycle from most in the recent past was the enormity of the Republican field. The primary season kicked off with so many GOP candidates that the debates had to be split into two broadcasts, with the lower-polling members of the field serving as a not-ready-for-prime-time opening act for the main debate.

There was a lot of weeping and gnashing of teeth throughout Republican Land about the number of contenders for the title. The early prevailing sentiment was that the pesky B Team contenders were getting in the way of smooth sailing for the complainer’s somewhat more mainstream and/or viable candidate.

That lament was voiced most often by the Rubio people, who were relying on a strategy that consisted of little more than than, “He’s the best choice because shut up.” It was also heard from Cruz supporters, John Kasich’s imaginary friend Clive, and the seventeen comatose Republican millionaires who had long ago vowed to vote for whichever Bush was running.

Abuse Investigation Hits Neil DeGrasse Tyson

Uber lefty and global warming hysteria officianado Neil DeGrasse Tyson is under a little heat of his own after BuzzFeed released details of a “year’s-long investigation” into multiple claims of harassment and misconduct of a nefarious nature. In this present #metoo era, it’s still clear that no one, left or right, is immune from the fallout, and now that trend appears to be claiming yet another victim on the left. The question now is whether the left will come to the defense of a favorite minority son or side with its female contingent. Regardless, what’s clear is that the left is having a difficult time devouring its own.

Here’s more from The Daily Wire…

BuzzFeed News revealed in a report Wednesday that it has been looking into sexual misconduct allegations against Neil deGrasse Tyson for “nearly three years.” After a fourth woman came forward to level allegations against the famed astrophysicist, the outlet has now presented its findings.

“Over the course of nearly three years, BuzzFeed News has spoken with more than 30 people for this story, including the alleged victims and their families, Cosmos crew members, and graduate students and professors who were at UT Austin 30 years ago. Dozens more from that time did not reply to requests for interviews,” BuzzFeed’s Azeen Ghorayshi reports.

“Most of the people interviewed lamented the prospect that damaging allegations might take down the world’s most famous living scientist — and perhaps the most famous black scientist in history — beloved for eviscerating so many of the stereotypes of the stuffy, out-of-touch academic,” she adds.

Beto Bros Out with Barack

According to recent reports, highly anticipated 2020 White House contender Democrat Beto O’Rourke, who could not beat Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) for the U.S. Senate, has officially kissed the ring of former President Obama in what most are analyzing as the beginning of “Beto2020.” According to The Washington Post, O’Rourke met with Obama in D.C. on Nov. 16 to discuss 2020: “The meeting was the first sign of Obama getting personally involved in conversations with O’Rourke, who, despite his November loss in a U.S. Senate race in Texas, has triggered more recent discussion and speculation than any other candidate in the burgeoning 2020 field.” Hope and change are coming again.

Here’s more from The Daily Wire…

A Democrat serious about taking on Trump in 2020 must take one crucial step first: secure the blessing of the man who many still see as the leader of the party. Beto O’Rourke, who just got done losing to Ted Cruz in Texas, has officially taken that first step, and many are hoping it’s the beginning of “Beto 2020.”

O’Rourke, a representative from Texas who gave up his seat to fall about 200,000 votes (2.6%) short of becoming a senator, has continued to enjoy the rock star media coverage of someone who actually won their race in part because he managed to get a lot closer to dethroning Cruz than many thought he could in Texas — but mostly because he has the charisma that most of the other potential Democratic presidential candidates are glaringly lacking.

Former President Barack Obama recently commented on that charisma, saying O’Rourke sort of reminds him of himself. “The reason I was able to make a connection with a sizable portion of the country was because people had a sense that I said what I meant,” Obama told his former strategist David Axelrod in an interview for “The Axe Files” podcast.

Biden: “I’m the Most Qualified…to be President”

Former Vice President Joe Biden is considering a 2020 run for the Oval Office, given his latest proclamation while on a book tour. He’s arguing he is “the most qualified” to be president, and that he and his family will make a decision within the next two months on whether or not to make a final bid. We’ll give kudos: he did admit that he’s a “gaffe machine”…but that he’s still better than a liar.

Here’s more from Washington Examiner…

Former Vice President Joe Biden says there’s no one better qualified in the nation to be president, but admitted at the same time he’s a “gaffe machine.”

“I’ll be as straight with you as I can. I think I’m the most qualified person in the country to be president,” Biden said Monday during a book tour stop in Missoula, Montana, according to CNN.

“No one should run for the job unless they believe that they would be qualified doing the job. I’ve been doing this my whole adult life, and the issues that are the most consequential relating to the plight of the middle class and our foreign policy are things that I have — even my critics would acknowledge, I may not be right but I know a great deal about it,” he said.

The moderator of the event, Bruce Feiler, said Biden would have a variety of potential liabilities if he choose to run, including being too old, being out of touch with the #MeToo era and being a “gaffe machine.”
